Crisis 2002–2003
Crisis documents a brief yet intensely challenging chapter in Carucci’s marriage. During this time, she and her husband Eran, confronted a series of painful disruptions—his marijuana use, her chronic back pain, and her infidelity—all leading to a temporary separation.
The photographs taken during this period are emotionally charged. Yet they also offer moments of connection and unexpected kindness. For Carucci, photography became a way to step outside the crisis, to observe and understand, and ultimately, to reconnect. “The fact that Eran let me take those pictures,” she writes, “reconnected me to him.”
